The reef system of Fury Shoals in southern Egypt will be familiar to divers who have done Deep South liveaboard itineraries, and until a few years ago safari boat was the only way to dive these unspoiled sites. That all changed in 2001 when the tiny fishing village of Hamata was developed as a tourist resort.
